For well over a decade, Beer & Partners have been running this highly successful event, attracting well over 100 of our private investors and institutions wishing to invest between £50,000 and £3m.

The format is straightforward - our registered investors turn up and are handed a catalogue which outlines the companies who are exhibiting. The investors then sit down with those companies that interested them and speak to them for as long as they like. It’s pretty informal and relaxed, not at all like Dragons’ Den.

The Fair is held three times every year in March, June and November with the doors opening to our investors at 10am and closing at 4pm.

The next Investment Fair is on the 8th of March 2012.

We do not allow any service providers to attend, just our investors and their guests looking for the next deal to invest in.

Who are we?

Since 1991, Beer & Partners have been helping small businesses raise the funding they need. We’ve secured over £120 million for our clients so we’re pretty good at it.

We match quality investors to businesses looking to raise funds, from start-up through to floatation. We’re good at that too - our completion rate is five times higher than the industry standard.

Headquartered in London, Beer & Partners extends its reach nationwide with a comprehensive network of skilled associates, many with over 20 years’ experience in industry, commerce and corporate finance.

Price & Service

The cost to attend is £850.00 + VAT covering the costs we incur for the event. Most of the firm’s income is of course geared towards success, for which our fees are 5% of the funds raised through our introductions. In addition, we will take an option (or warrants) to buy shares in your company at the same price as the investor over an amount equivalent to 5%.

For this, you get:

  • The opportunity to promote your proposal face-2-face from a pool of up to 200 investors
  • A Beer & Partners Associate helping you before, during and after the event, maximising your presentation’s impact
  • An A5 colour entry in our catalogue, handed to all attending investors
  • Your catalogue entry emailed out to more than 1,700 investors after the event
  • And, of course, the all important follow-up support after the event where we will provide help and assistance in following up with interested investors and assist in negotiations to secure investment on terms acceptable to you.

Have you got what it takes?

Beer & Partners have over 1,700 private investors on our books and we add another every working day. This has been achieved by a pretty stringent selection process. After all, our reputation is also on the line. We don’t let anyone with a cheque exhibit at our Fair; we like to make sure that you have a good chance of securing investment before allowing you in.

Every company is different and every investor has a different idea of what is important; nevertheless there are a few basic things that we look for.

  • Can the management team demonstrate that it has the ability to turn investment into profit? Is there anything in your track record that supports this?
  • Do you have the drive and desire to make the plan work?
  • How much thought has gone into the business plan and can you justify, credibly, any assertions (forecasts) made in it?
  • What makes your company different from its competitors and therefore more likely to succeed? Perhaps there are patent protections, proprietary information or other factors that will give comfort to an investor.
  • What is the potential exit route, when and where is it?
  • How much is really needed, when and why? Can funding be phased? Where is the new money to be spent?
  • What is the deal? How much equity are the present owners prepared to surrender? How did they arrive at the figure? Is the valuation reasonable? Is there a skills gap in the team that an investor can help fill? There should however, always be room for negotiation by both sides - if the chemistry is right, the rest tends to fall into place.

The next steps

We’d like to know more about you and your company. You can call us, email us or complete the contact form on the left. One of our associates based nearest to you will get in touch to discuss your investment needs in more detail.

You can also request to see the full pack which contains detailed information about the Fair along with the contract you need to sign with us before you can exhibit.
