Simon is presently focused on Life Sciences. He has been involved in seven Healthtech completions of which two are now publicly listed (Epistem plc and Apricus Biosciences Inc). He has other Beer & Partners completions experience to draw on, which includes three in ICT completions and fundings in specialist entertainment and advertising businesses. He joined Beer & Partners in late 2004 and likes to team with colleagues.

Simon has twenty years management experience in sales and marketing of technology products in various technical sectors. He is a graduate in Engineering Science and has experience in defence systems development. He is a one-time technology enthusiast who has learned to be a commercial pragmatist and lover of the simple market proposition.

Tracking the developing interests of investors, he is especially keen to build client relationships and investor dialogue relating to businesses involving Life Sciences.

After a career in senior management in global healthcare companies, including Johnson and Johnson, Richard joined Beer and Partners in 2000. Since then Richard has advised and assisted over 80 companies seeking equity funding.

Utilising his general management skills and consulting experience, Richard specialises in assisting companies to prepare for inward investment, and further in helping those companies achieve their goals after funding. Richard’s industry contacts and experience give him specialist status in the life sciences sector.

Patrick has many years experience in funding young rapidly growing unquoted businesses with equity and near equity financing. He has advised companies, in a variety of sectors, on equity funding through all stages of the funding process. He was educated at Oxford with an MPhil in Management Studies from Linacre College and at Reading with a BSc in Agriculture. He has experience of business both in the UK and in the developing world. He is also regional manager for Beer Mergers Ltd, working on M&A type transactions.

Having been Managing Director of John Govett between 1985 and 1988, Dwight became an independent director and advisor to many start-ups, and smaller companies. He was also on the board of a number of quoted companies, among which were Macarthays Pharmaceutical, King and Shaxon (discount house and regional broker), Greenway Holdings and Wistech (waste management) and Cadiz Inc. (agriculture and water in California).

With wide experience in the writing of business plans and in the funding of small and medium sized companies, he is well suited to the challenges and requirements of Beer & Partners' clientele.

Nick is an entrepreneurial founding director & former CEO within the Bioscience field and is equipped with a successful track record in launching, funding and managing companies at the forefront of technology. Nick has worked in several start up and public companies including Novolytics (antimocrobial therapeutics), Oxagen (complex human genetic disorders), Chromotech (diagnostics) and Ribotite (microbiology). He is also an advisor to Thermo Fisher Scientific on their genomics products.

In the public sector Nick founded the successful Warwick Enterprise Park at Warwick HRI, which provides business services and incubation space for fledgling companies to grow and develop. Nick also worked as a business consultant to Manchester University's incubator company, UMIC.

Nick was educated at some of the worlds leading Universities - Harvard Medical School and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute (USA); Oxford University (UK); and Warwick University where he gained his PhD (UK).

Currently Nick provides management and consultancy advice to SMEs and potential new start-ups from corporate and University sectors. Nick's clients come from a range of sectors including human and animal health, MedTech, Life Science, engineering and nanotechnology, diagnostics, food technology, and information technology.

Bill has enjoyed a career in project management and new business development with Gardiner-Caldwell Communications Ltd, a leading agency in the niche market of Medical Education and Communications. Bill’s clients were multinational pharmaceutical companies and he also lead a team focused on Biotechnology. The company experienced exceptional growth over twenty years, from five to five hundred staff and several divisions in offices in the UK, USA and Hong Kong. After several years as a Board Director, Bill retired shortly after exit.

He is an active Angel Investor in Life Sciences companies and Non-executive Director of companies in On-line Medical Education and Electronic Data Capture.
