Andy specialises in helping early stage and established businesses with high growth potential to realise their ambitions.  He is able to translate over 20 years of senior management experience, 5 at Managing Director level, into practical and added value business support to a diverse client base operating in equally diverse markets.

Recent achievements include:

• Mentored 3 clients to achieve "Start Up Business of the Year Award" and recorded 21 client businesses starting to trade and 90 jobs created in 2010.
• Adviser to 2 of the 6 finalists of the "Venturefest Yorkshire 2011 Investment Competition".
• Worked with over 120 owner managers on a 1:1 basis to develop their strategies and operational plans, raise finance to fund the plans and help them overcome obstacles to growth.

Andy started his career as an Engineer working in R&D before specialising in International Sales, Marketing and Product Management.  As a General Manager he set up and led a £13m pa Global Business Unit for a major plc and also ran a Hong Kong based subsidiary.  On moving to the IT sector Andy became CEO of a software development company which he subsequently acquired via an MBO raising a combination of equity, debt and cash finance.

Since then, Andy has acted as a mentor and consultant to high growth potential businesses, comprising new starts, MBOs, MBIs, corporate and university spin-outs, and established businesses seeking transformational change.  His clients operate across a range of sectors, including: Engineering & Materials, Manufacturing, Digital & New Media, Food & Drink, Healthcare Technologies, Renewable Energy, Retail & E-commerce, and Professional Services. 

In addition to his practical experience, Andy holds an MEng in Materials Process Engineering (Metals) from Sheffield University and an MBA from Cranfield School of Management.
