Another Successful Investment Fair!

On the 9th November we held our 22nd biannual Investment Fair at Mark Masons Hall in London.

Our latest Fair proved to be a vibrant and exciting day, with about 120 of our registered investors turning out to meet the entrepreneurs behind 32 exciting companies.  The room was buzzing with activity, as entrepreneurs and investors met for the first time to discuss investment opportunities.

We hope that our latest fair will prove to be as successful in raising funds as our previous event in May 2010, which raised a total of £1.8m for over a third of businesses which presented. So far funding looks promising; many of our clients have arranged follow up meetings with investors, and we are confident that a significant number of businesses will go on to secure the funding they require through our registered business angels.

Beer & Partners’ largest shareholder, Luke Johnson, (the entrepreneur behind the success of Pizza Express and previously chairman of Channel 4) was thrilled by the vibrant atmosphere at the Fair on November 9th. Speaking the press at the event, he told the Evening Standard and Bloomberg TV that entrepreneurs and startup companies play a crucial role in the wider economy, describing them as “the most important source of new job creation”. Luke recognized angel investing as “the most important source of capital for emerging businesses” and emphasized the benefits of bringing entrepreneurs together with investors face-to-face, to discuss their funding proposition, and to establish if that all-important chemistry is present.

Our November Investment Fair proved such a success that we have decided to run three Fairs in the coming year, to meet the growing demand from entrepreneurs and business angels.

Our next fair will be taking place in March 2011; please Click Here for more information on how the fair works.
