London Investment Fair Reaches 10 Year Milestone!

Beer & Partners hosted the 20th bi-annual London Investment Fair on Tuesday 3 November.

During the day over 125 investors came to our fair to meet the 30 fund seekers presenting a wide variety of funding opportunities in new and expanding innovative companies. Many investors were attending for the first time (nearly 200 have signed up since January 2009) and it was excellent to see so many of our regulars returning to the fair, and to discuss the investment climate and economic situation.

Feedback was encouraging:

  • “best yet”
  • “buzzing atmosphere”
  • “not even the rain could keep me away”
  • “really interesting businesses here”
  • “looking forward to the next one”
  • “very efficient way of getting investors and companies together, I am sure it was a great success”

All comments were greatly appreciated. On the day, we had firm expressions of interest in investing in eleven companies (subject of course to detailed business plans and due diligence) and strong interest in another eight.

If you would to discuss the possibility of getting your company into the next Investment Fair (scheduled to take place in May 2010), or any general advice on raising funding for your business, please contact Head Office on 0207 329 4884.

Stop Press 27 November 2009: Brokers seem to be gearing up with high expectations for a raft of IPO’s expected to come to AIM and PLUS markets in the first quarter of 2010. Sentiment seems to be that investor appetite is returning for small quoted companies as investors search for decent returns. We’re a little sceptical about this as many of the funds we are in contact with, have struggled to attract new money to invest.
