21st London Investment Fair Attracts Record Number of Investors
The bi-annual Beer & Partners Investment Fair, held in London on Tuesday 18th May, managed to entice record numbers of investors. 147 high net worth individuals came through the doors between 10am and 4pm. Competition was tough for businesses seeking funding to secure places at the event; 32 companies of differing stages and sectors were chosen, each looking to raise finance from Beer business angels.
The invaluable opportunity to meet exhibitors face-to-face in an informal environment draws significant interest from our investors. Many also appreciate the chance to network with other like-minded individuals. A constant stream of investors meant that tables were rarely empty as conversations took place throughout the day.
Funding looks promising; meetings are being arranged and many of our fair clients have confirmed interest from several investors. One client even received investment on the day for part of the amount he was seeking. Our last fair in November 2009 managed to secure over £2.1m for over a third of fair clients from the fair alone. Please watch this space for progress updates over the coming weeks.
Our next fair will be taking place in November later this year; please Click Here for more information on how the fair works.

Stop Press 2 July 2010: The Budget, bad news as it was generally, did provide a very clear signal that this Government is intending to encourage support for new business entrepreneurs and investment generally and specifically through Entrepreneurs Relief and retention of EIS, whilst cutting the waste of £2bn on Regional Development Agencies and £190m on Business Link.
